Andy was asked by our client to recreate a tile design seen in a magazine. It was a challenge lining up the tiles around the timber mantel. Nothing was level (the fireplace and mantel weren’t even level with the floor or ceiling).
However Andy completed this to a very high standard.
The homeowner decided the rustic brick look wasn’t quite the look they were after, so chose to paint the tiles white…. which looks stunning in their living room.

The owners of Straight Edge tiling were very sad to see their home town destroyed in the earthquake, and so made it their goal to play a part in rebuilding it tile by tile. Their business is new, but only by brand name… Andy Stewart (Senior Tiler)has been in the tiling industry for 17 years, and had his own business here before moving to Perth some 7 years ago.For the past couple of years Andy has been employed with Metro Floor, until ready to go back out on his own. Lisa Stewart (Andy’s wife) who previously worked as a business mentor & life coach has taken on the role as contracts manager organising the work for him and making sure he has everything he needs to keep work flowing and organised.
